APIS Change Log

The APIS website is updated from time to time to add new material, enhance functionality, and clarify or correct information already available on the site. This page lists changes made since the launch of the website on June 23, 2003. Descriptions of these changes may be accessed by selecting a date from the “View Changes” menu.

Additions and Enhancements

Update to 1/1/2017

The APIS information appearing on this website has been updated to include legislative and regulatory changes that took effect on or before 1/1/2017.  Vehicular Insurance Exclusion has been discontinued and is not included in the update.

Site Redesign

The website has been extensively redesigned to enhance usability and improve access to APIS data. Major improvements include the following:

  • New left-side and header menus;
  • A revised Policy Changes at a Glance section allowing users to view policy changes by topic, jurisdiction, or year;
  • Improved graphics; and
  • Map and chart “table views” allowing users to view and export map and chart data in table form.

Policy Resources

In the coverage for Recreational Use of Cannabis:

  • Policy information was added for California, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Vermont, to reflect policy-making activity since the previous update to this website;
  • The Cultivation Restrictions variable was enhanced to allow for the description of a range of cultivation limits based on different license types; and
  • Additional journal references were added to the Selected References section.
