Corrections and Clarifications

Sunday Sales for South Dakota

South Dakota was reclassified as a State that does not ban sales of alcoholic beverages on Sundays. As a result, South Dakota was removed from the Sunday Sales comparison tables (which are limited to States with comprehensive bans on Sunday sales of alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption) for the entire period of coverage (1/1/1998-1/1/2006); the map and historical chart were also corrected to reflect South Dakota's reclassification as a no-ban State.  This change was implemented after APIS confirmed that some categories of licensees are permitted to sell malt beverages for off-premises consumption on Sundays.
